Holidaymakers on Costa del Sol to expect lower prices 2017! Prices have fallen by up to 31% at major resorts and city break destinations worldwide, according to a new report on travel costs. As sterling continues to strengthen against other world currencies, the study, compiled by Post Office Travel Money, has found that costs fell at 23 of 44 destinations surveyed. For the once that decide to go for holiday to Costa del Sol, this shows that average cost for the holidaymakers will fall down to 3%.

Portugal’s Algarve emerges as the most affordable destination for UK tourists, where the average price for a basket of those staple goods will cost £33.36 – which is some £4 cheaper than last year.

For 2017, the chief resorts of the Costa del Sol are poised to be slightly cheaper than last year, meaning holidaymakers on Costa del Sol to expect lower prices 2017.

The Costa del Sol’s basket will set you back £38.79, which puts Spain in third place behind runner-up, Sunny Beach in Bulgaria (£33.53). No other destination dips below the £40 threshold, with the fourth-most affordable resort – Marmaris in Turkey – poised to set holidaymakers back some £49.74 per basket.

According to Post Office Travel Money, if sterling continues to hold its value, UK holidaymakers will be able to get a lot more for their money at a wide choice of destinations.
