Marbella is the municipality with the most income for holiday homes in summer

The home rental company Homeaway has published a study on the profits of private individuals who rent out their holiday homes and points out that eight municipalities of Malaga are among the ten most popular destinations in summer, being also those that bring more benefits to the property owners.

Marbella is the Andalusian municipality where the owner had more benefits for the rental of their home in summer, with an average of 4,815 euros per month and well above the next most demanded municipality in the summer, as was Conil de la Frontera (Cádiz ), where the average profit was around 3,546 euros.

Cities with most bookings

The analysis carried out by HomeAway on the rental profits that a holiday home owner in Andalusia can obtain, concludes that, among the 5 most reserved cities by the global users of the platform in Andalusia in 2017, Seville is the city where the owner obtained a higher monthly profit for renting your home to HomeAway users (€ 2,838). On the contrary, Cádiz is the Andalusian destination where it earned the least (€ 1,775).

Málaga is the second city in average profit throughout the year, with an average of 2,775 euros per month per home, followed very closely by Granada, with an average profit of 2763 euros and, further afield, Córdoba with little more of 2,000 euros of monthly income.

This study coincides with the analysis of holiday rental prices that HomeAway launched in February, which indicates that Andalusia was one of the Spanish regions where there was an increase in the average price of holiday rental (+4%) in 2017 compared to the year previous (from € 29 per person per night in 2016 to € 30). In addition, it is worth noting that Alhaurín el Grande was the one with the highest decrease in the average rental price of holiday homes in 2017 compared to 2016: 26% less, from € 30 to € 22.

According to Juan Carlos Fernández, Senior Regional Director for Southern Europe of HomeAway, 'with this analysis we want to offer, to owners who own holiday homes in Andalusia, guidance on what profits they can get if they advertise their property on HomeAway'
